Taiyo Aksu Shows Podium Pace In Navarra Before Crash

Taiyo excited for Estoril – wants to make amends for double Navarra spill
Taiyo Aksu is focused on a top three finish in the final standings of the 2025 ESBK Superstock 600cc Championship after the title slipped through his fingers at Navarra this past weekend.
One of the fastest riders on track all weekend, Taiyo qualified third and was optimistic of front running in both seventeen lap encounters at the Spanish venue.
A strong start on Saturday saw him immediately in contention for the podium but after running second for most of the race he made a small mistake and crashed. Able to remount he salvaged six points with a tenth-place finish. Sunday saw the #89 Yamaha rider make another strong start and after once again joining the fight for the podium he crashed out with half of the race remaining.
Understandably frustrated, Taiyo knows why he crashed and moves on to the penultimate round of the series in Portugal in a few weeks ready to make amends.
Taiyo Aksu:
“Race was going so well. I was fighting for second and should have been on the podium. In hindsight I could have settled for third or fourth, but I am here to race and I want to win. Even though I crashed in race one I was happy with how I was riding, even if a bit of inexperience meant that I was a riding a bit over the limit to compensate for some issues that I had. Crashing again on Sunday was hard for me to initially accept. It was a disappointing end to what could and should have been a strong weekend but that’s racing. There were a lot of things that happened out of my control which is hard to accept but onwards and upwards. I showed that I am capable of fighting for the podium and all I can do is learn from it. I will come back strong in Estoril and push for my first win and a return to the podium there! Thank you to everyone who believes in me and is supporting me.”
